Casino

Known as the Beef Capital of NSW, Casino is a charming country town located the banks for the Richmond River.  With a landscape of sprawling farmland and a rugged mountain backdrop, Casino is a stunning place to visit.

Evans Head

A 45 minute drive from Casino Holiday Park, Evans Head is a laidback fishing village boasting long, unspoilt beaches, fantastic fishing and excellent surfing. Surrounded by national parks and river estuaries, Evans Head is often considered the hidden gem of the Northern NSW coast.

Broadwater and Rileys Hill

The quaint village of Broadwater is a sweet place to explore when you visit the Richmond Valley. Nicknamed ‘the sweetest village in Australia’, Broadwater is the regional centre for the local sugar industry. The Broadwater Sugar Mill has been in operation since 1880 and dominates the local skyline.

  • Meander along the peaceful walking tracks of the Broadwater Koala Sanctuary where you may see koalas nesting in the eucalypts.

Woodburn and New Italy

Located on the banks of the Richmond River, Woodburn is a delightful and peaceful town. Before the area was developed, the river was used a bustling activity of sailing ships, ocean steamers and riverboats. Today it is perfect for a myriad of recreational water sports. The small community of New Italy beholds a small farming community growing fruit, vegetables and grapes.

Coraki

Located at the junction of the Richmond and Wilson Rivers, Coraki is a quiet and quaint country town rich in history and heritage.  The rivers are a haven for boaties and water sports while the shady riverbanks are perfect for picnics and relaxation.

Rappville

Twenty kilometres south of Casion is the farming community of Rappville.  A former bustling timber and beef village, it is now a quaint insight into its rural past.

National Parks in the Richmond Valley

The Richmond Valley is home to rare and endangered mammals, stunning birdlife and pockets of World Heritage listed rainforests.

Broadwater National Park

Situated between the villages of Broadwater and Evans Head, it’s a great place for hiking, birdwatching and, during the winter months, whale watching. Pack a picnic lunch and your swimmers.

Bundjalung National Park

A water wonderland, here you can explore beaches, rivers, wetlands and lagoons.

Richmond Range National Park

Via the Bruxner Highway, Richmond Range National Park is 45km north of Casino. It is renowned for it’s World Heritage listed rainforest on the Cambridge Plateau and rare gum species. There are plenty of walking tracks to be enjoyed.

Doubleduke State Forest

Covering approximately 2,600 hectares, Doubleduke State Forest is located south of the town of Woodburn. The forest conserves swamp and grassy sclerophyll forests and freshwater wetlands. Within the forest is a network of cross country mountain bike trails.

Bungawalbin National Park

Approximately 30 kilometres west of Evans Head, Bungawalbin National Park covers an area of approximately 6,701 hectares and forms part of a large contiguous wetland system comprising important floodplain subtropical rainforest, coastal swamp forests and coastal floodplain wetlands.
